The founder and creative mind behind Knotty Woodwork.

Throughout my life, I have been an extreme hobbyist as I learned to make golf clubs, fishing rods, pens, knives, jewelry, custom wood working and so much more. In my spare time, I am a fly-fishing guide and love being in the outdoors. I am also married to my high school sweetheart, Lora – we have two kids, Allegra and Liam. Our family continues to grow as Allegra is married to Elliott, and Liam is married to Jessica. Liam and Jessica have given us our first grandchild, Evangeline. I am a proud family man and believe that life should be a balance between work, play and quality time with loved ones.

I have been lucky enough to have multiple careers in my lifetime, all of which have led to making Knotty Woodwork the exceptional company it is today. For years, my family and I were dependent on the oil and gas industry, as I was the co-owner of a successful company providing Engineering services and Wellsite Supervision for Drilling, Completions, Construction and Safety operations.

Amidst the economic challenges faced by many in Calgary, I recognized an opportunity for reinvention. With a passion for woodworking, I established Knotty Woodwork, initially focusing on crafting custom furniture. As demand grew, particularly for our expertise in bespoke cabinetry, our humble garage workshop evolved into a full-fledged operation.

Today, Knotty Woodwork specializes in creating tailored cabinetry solutions that reflect your unique style and needs. Our journey from a family garage to a dedicated workshop underscores our commitment to craftsmanship and client satisfaction.
